Our Hi-Lo Spindles offer the best of both whorls for drop spindles: a brass hook at the top for high-whorl spinning and a grooved shaft for low-whorl spinning. Made of hard maple and finished with Danish oil, these three sizes offer a broad spectrum of spinning capabilities:

2.5" (1.1 ounce) - Light and fast, this spindle will give lots of twist to your yarn. Great for spinning lace and fine yarns. Pictured Right

3" (2.2 ounces) - Beginners enjoy this spindle as it is slow enough to manage the drafting process while fast enough to spin a fine to medium-weight yarn. Pictured Center

4" (3 ounces) - This large spindle is excellent for spinning thick and bulky yarns, yarns with texture, art yarns, or as a plying spindle to combine yarn spun with the 2" or 3" Hi-Lo Drop Spindles into multi-plied yarns. Pictured Left
